Now this is really interesting… First of all, Timeline was one of the less appreciated tracks from Wizzy Noise’ 3rd album Elecktro Theater… Well, in my opinion at least… But this CDM certainly makes up for that… The real remarkable thing about this release is the diversity in both “time” and genre… Ranging from 1996-old school goa style to cutting edge neo-full on… From progressive Scandinavian trance, to dark, distorted German techno-trance… We go almost full scale here, and I really, really like that… Let’s get on with the tracks one by one… #01: Ahh… From the first second you just know it’s Vibrasphere… Their trademark progressive Scandinavian sound is present through-out this track… Rickard & Robert have found their niche, and damn, I hope they never stray from that, ‘cause this is so damn good! So clear, so crisp, so delicious! Sounds like a cookie, huh? Well, I’ll have a whole plate! And hey, nothing it wrong with your hearing! [You’ll understand once you’ve listened to the track!] This CDM is worth the money for this track alone! Amazing track! #02: Neologic… More like neurological, ‘cause this could very well affect your nervous system! I’m not the biggest fan of the Israeli neo full-on, but I know a lot of people are… This is however, a definite dance floor burner, and there is nothing wrong with that… Decent track! #03: Wizzy Noise remixing Wizzy Noise… How awkward! When I first saw the track list, I thought “Where the hell is the original? They could have tossed it in!?” This Wizzy Noise remix does however resemble the original from Elecktro Theater quite a bit… So, it’s kinda like it’s here… Let me just stress though, that this IS a reworked version, it’s been polished up, and the melodies are re-vamped! The nifty little acid part in the middle from the original track is also intact… Nice track! #04: Charasmatix, the German tekKno-stomper hits us hard with this brutal assault… Not much is left from the original, though it’s not all gone… It’s dark, it’s hard, it’s percussion driven, it’s for those late nights where you just want some serious bass banging! Decent track! #05: Laaaaadies and gentlemen, let’s take a trip back to 1996! French veterans Blue Planet Corporation delivers an old school melodic walk down memory lane… The magical 303s in this track will send instant shivers down your spine… Pure melodies, pure bliss, pure heaven! Bom Shankar! ;o) Fantastic track! It’s rare to see so much diversity in a remix CD… This is more like a compilation… And that’s a good thing… Surely, there is something here for almost any taste in electronic music. Not much is left from the original track, but this just goes to show how much talent the different producers have… A very interesting release – I wouldn’t miss it! 8/10 Favourites: 1 (!!), 3, 5 (!!) DeathPosture(DK) With this single Candyflip presents 5 remixes of the Wizzy Noise Track "TimeLine" released on their last album. In style all versions fit together successfully and each one overwhelms with finest melodical trance sound; one softer and more relaxed, other ones with more power and pushing bassline. Whereever you are, whatever time it is, whether on the dancefloor or at home; this homogenous mixture is prepared for every situation. And the best remix gratifyingly was made the Blue Planet Corporation. Get it! M. Scherer (PlasticAgeMusic Reviews, DE)
Tom Anteater (Revolve Magazine, UK) Another amazing release from the Candyflip rec. crew Wizzy Noise – Timeline (Vibrasphere Remix) : Wizzy Noise – Timeline (Neologic Remix) : Wizzy Noise – Timeline (Wizzy Noise Remix) : wizzy remix, is the great. it has the technoish and flangerized loops
in the background and the clear sounds of the percs and snairs that give
big atmosphere to the remix. also th eroling basslines that are tipical
for wizzy style and the dark low cutted pads, awsome. Wizzy Noise – Timeline (Charasmatix Remix) : my favirite remix. starts off with this amazing padd and saw bassline that make it the most agressive track. altho the sound quality is the least good of them all. thisjumpy sounds at the start make a great atmosphere. good percution loops with droping snairs, nice. nice power chords in the middle that makes more power and progressivness. very nice hihat work. although nothing special happened in the niddle of the track that make u go wild but thats what nice in progressive tracks. Wizzy Noise – Timeline (Blue Planet Corporation Remix) : nice start with nice line that turnes from side to side, i didnt like the bassline at all. too monotone, but steady. very progressive but not too agressive to my taste. i like the playing in the hihats and the arpegiator line at the middle part and also the usage of the vocal.in the middle gret stoppy with a long atmospheric pad that soften the track. all in all a dicent track, great for lounge party - progressive set. All in all , high quality release. a must in any dj collection. Arie Molecular (Isratrance, IL) 1) Vibrasphere remix After the very first seconds of the track you already know even without booklet who is behind this remix. One of the best progressive psytrance projects is presenting us probably the last track before its definitive split up. Also this time it is a smooth, dreamy song flowing in a typical dub-proggy-trance rhytm. Wonderful work as usual, hope Rickard will be able to continue with Vibrasphere project at least as good as they did it together… 2) Neologic remix Real neo full-on killer from the common project of Micha Yossef (Echotek) and Mishel Bitton (Safi Connection) from Israel. It is a very groovy one with a great rolling bassline, working very well on the dancefloor. Stay tuned for their debut album that should be released soon on Candyflip Records… 3) Wizzy Noise remix This single CD does not includes original version but on the 3rd place there is a remix of Wizzy Noise itself. Unfortunatelly it is too similar to the original and doen not bring many new elements – it is not bad track at all but I would prefer to be much more innovative here. 4) Charasmatix remix I did not heard about this German project for a quite a long time and this was a very nice surprise for me – it is the darkest track here with quite monotonous basement, good percusion loops and very raw feeling. Well done! 5) Blue Planet Corporation remix One of the old stars of classic goa trance strikes back! Old school sound with some 303s takes you to the middle of 90?s – and it is definitely a very good trip, B.P.C. surprised everybody, how nice to see that this project still has a lot to say also at the beginning of the 21st century when there is a nearly flood of new fresh artists and substyles on the scene.
Dj Slater (Tribal Vision / Chaishop.com, CZ) First out is two of the masters in the progressive scene, Rickard Berglöf and Robert Elster (Vibrasphere) from Sweden with their version of this track. Definitely one of my favourite groups when it comes to progressive trance. They give us as usual a really floating progressive trance track with beautiful melodies perfect for the morning. Track 2 is a remix done by Neo Logic (Micha Yossef and Mishel Bitton) who has released an album on Candyflip Records this year. They give us a more full on Israely style version of this track. Very melodic and massive. Track 3 is a remix done by Wizzy Noise (Micky Noise and Uriel) themselves. They give us a really pumping version. Groovy, heavy bass line, rolling with some tribal drums above. Drifting full on with a bit darker vibe than the versions done by Vibrasphere and Neo Logic. Then we get a remix done by Charasmatix (Martin Schoenauer and Karl Rademacher). They are also into the progressive side of trance, and give us a rolling, pretty dark progressive track. Very stumping all the way through. At last we surprisingly get a remix done by one of my favourite artists, Blue Planet Corporation (Gabriel Masurel) from France. We haven’t heard much trance from him since his album Blue Planet on Flying Rhino Records in 1999, but here we finally get some deep stuff from him again. This track is totally deep all the way through. Rolling, really pushing beats and a totally deep floating vibe. A beautiful trancey voyage. In my opinion the best remix of this track. This CD single is really good! Here you get progressive trance, full on trance and something between. A track with Blue Planet Corporation involved made me really happy too. Recommended! PKS (TraceNet, NO) The 3rd Wizzy Noise album had some really great tracks and The Timeline wasn't really a track I remembered as one of them. It was a good track but still not as good as some others. This is why I found it pretty strange to now have 5 remixes of it. However judging from the tracklist this isn't just another hit attempt. The artists doing the remixes are from different areas of the scene which is a good thing. Timeline (Vibrasphere Remix) The first remix starts of with a very deep and dubby atmosphere in a typical Vibrasphere fashion. It's too bad that this is the last track released by the duo. The track has a very deep bassline and just a fantastic structure which you could recognize immediately. This is just a trademark Vibrasphere sound. Of course the great thing about is the fact that the wizzy sounds still remain. Some nice vocal samples are also introduced but the most dominant feature apart from the massive bassline is the acid 303 like sound. Although I'm not really a fan of such retro sounds this one blends just perfectly with the main melody which is again made in a typical Vibrasphere fashion. My favorite remix for sure despite the over the top acid sounds. Timeline (Neo Logic Remix) I'm really not a fan of Micha and Mishel's hyper productive way of releasing tracks. This one is made in a typical Israeli full on fashion. It starts with some really nice echoing sounds and of course a really smooth but heavy bassline. Although a bit too predictable and simple this track is really good dancefloor material and I'm sure most people will like it. It just doesn't do much for me as I find it too aggressive and repetetive at times. Timeline (Wizzy Noise Remix) I must say that I find it pretty boring to see Wizzy Noise remixing themselves. The entire track gets a much deeper tribal perspective and more acid sounds which are really present in the new album. Also a huge amount of flanger sounds keep appearing. It's a good track just like the original but not changed enough which is why I feel that artists should leave remixes to someone other than themselves. Again this is very good dancefloor material. Timeline (Charasmatix Remix) Now here is an interesting remix from a name that hasn't been present on the scene for a while. It is the most aggressive track with a very typical and boring beat. However that is probably the only bad thing about it. It has a typical progressive structure and it is just filled with fantastic tribal drums. The bassline just drives you forward through the entire track. It takes a while before it gets interesting though. Again we have acid sounds that resemble the original. Yet here they are done in a very nice groovy fashion. Perfect night time dancefloor material. Timeline (Blue Planet Corporation Remix) Again here is a name that hasn't been present for a while. The remix also has a very strong bassline but since it's the longest track it just takes a while before things get interesting. When they do we have a fantastic tribal groove with a retro like background that just keeps you on your feet. That same background keeps evolving until it comes to a point where it just becomes a really noticeable acid sound and just takes over for a while. But the biggest highlight is the fantastic night time melody which just leaves your mouth wide open and sends shivers down your spine. It's just so powerful and aggressive yet very calm at the same time. Fantastic remix. All the tracks have great quality production and they can be played in any night time set, especially the last one. The new album by Wizzy Noise on Spun moves in a completely different direction than this one which is again a good thing but I would like to hear more of this kind of sound. In any case I recommend this to anyone who is searching for some powerful material. Dovla (Trancepleme, Croatia)
Rakete (Mushroom Magazine, DE) Keeping baited breath till the new album comes out, we manage to stay sane with this five-tracker of remixes of Timeline, one of the standout's from last year's high-watermark Electro Theater album. Vibrasphere cuts in first, and er... well, it sounds like vibrasphere. Floaty, layered, ticklish, is brings to the forefront the proggy edge that was always in Wizzy's sound. It's cute, and the chunky acidic nosedive at the end is particularly mouthwatering. Neologic's take is messier, almost more like the Wizzy Noise of Cyclotron with the mechanoid paranoia winning the scuffle against the loose, shakey groove. Wizzy's own remix has bags of presence right from the start -- tribal touches, bags of extra potent wi zzy power (TM), it's firing on all cylinders kinda stuff. Charismatix always sounds to psyreviews like gnarled trees and springy english forest floor... and the style works well with Wizzy's sound. Top of the tree though is Blue Planet Corp's remix, an utterly improbable yet staggeringly beautiful remix that sounds more like its own tune than any kind of rework. Blue Planet's crystalline sounds sit perfectly over Wizzy's baggy-jeans groove, and closes the EP off nicely. Damion (psyreviews.com, UK)
The single if featured on the third Wizzynoise album “Elecktro Theater”. The track was released last February and comes with five previously unreleased Remixes. Vibrasphere are from Sweden and they represent the more progressive Scandinavian sound, that has influenced the scene very much the past few years. A lot of goa elements ans saw programming frequencies, but on the same time keeping those progressive sounds and melodies that I have to say this is the rmx I like. All those melodies make it a really imotional track. Neo Logic, representing that hard bass line Israeli sound. A lot of tight saw bass lines one on top of the other and punching percussion that give the track a lot of aggressiveness. The sounds are fated in and out all the time. Really excellent. Great for hardcore psy dance floors. Play it in a big club and watch this baby bring down the walls around you. Charasmatix represent the German psy techno-trance sound that has also like the Swedish sound influent the scene today. Must be played only when you have the lights on or else this puppy will make night darker than a moonless night in hell. Dark progressive sound and melagholic strings. A sure rocker in any dance floor. Excellent percussion and saw effects. Must admit that this is one of my favourite ones. This is something you would find on a John 00 compilation and is for sure in my bag.Hope the boys will send me a 12'' also of this puppy. Blue Planet Corporation from France produce an old school epic monster that is for sure going to kill some dance floors. Clean and saw twisted bass lines together with excellent strings and heavy kick make this a track that will glue all listeners to the speakers and on the dance floor. I love the amount of reverb that this guys are using on effects. Gives the track a really spacey feeling. Older psy listeners will for sure kill for this track. Beware. Wizzy Noise produce a blasting follow-up to the original. More melodies and with a lot more energy. Better that the original but is not the best mix on this release. All the producers that have featured on this release are all very great and they stick to the original elements of the track but on the same time making each rmx different than the other one. That is what makes it so good. Some times you get rmxs of tracks that sound the same. Not in this case. Cheers to Candyflip for sending me this. I am very happy to see older sounds returning to the scene because this track has a lot of old school goa/psy trance elements that is the way to take music in front. Always remembering the roots. Hope I get more tracks like this through the summer. A very good release that I believe you should look in to it.
