Oh boy oh A new album from Wizzy Noise has landed. I thought this was going to be fairly good but nothing could have prepared me for this album. It is an absolute gem and I've been playing it for weeks now non stop. It gets even better with each listen almost as if you understand and notice that tiny bit more detail than the last time. Its also a great album for all seasons and is so danceable I'm sure it will be played in clubs, on boats,, jungles, woods, deserts and wherever else there is a party happening! Anyway I'll try and give you the vibe. The album is not as filthy as I thought it would be. The production is phenomenal and I have to agree with Alexis from Candy Flip that the louder you play it the more clear the sound gets. No room spared on the CD as its got a whole 10 tracks and you will definitely get your moneys worth. This album should appeal to everybody in my opinion and if not, as the saying goes, "You should get a check up from the neck up" as this is the class A I've been waiting for. Track1 is called 'Radical Payne' and we start with the sound of a chopper flying over a jungle which has many rumbles lurking within. Tribal drums and a bouncy rhythm carried by waves of tension builders. This is a snappy creature which steps up another gear when melody comes in. The bass keeps up and follows amazingly at the same time. Its constantly building and building. Awachawooh Awackawooh sounds are all wrapped up in emotional paper. Then there is the more aggressive side with dirty synth sounds. The final leg of this is powerful. What a fresh up-beat happy vibe for some fun in the sun. I'd play it out. Track2 is 'Screwheads remix' and you'll be trying to ride the bass like a surfer on a psychedelic tidal wave. Hard progressive block building. Each new sound slots in a treat and they all fit like a dream once they are all together. Acidic squelchy melody leads to a big alien one. There is so much here on the one track which makes it superb and perhaps its a little similar to a good Eat Static track. Bags of energy and life always firmly pushing forward. Killer. Track3 called 'Elecktro Theater' is a bit more mucky with its start. It attacks with an earthly digital drive. There is great experimental tweaking and for me it calmly teases whilst evolving. Its ticking and tocking and definitely rocking! Dirtly noises glug through a gliding bass line. I'm still wiggling my arse from hearing this track... 4 is called 'Paradise Lost' and it won't give you time to catch your breath as we begin at a good height where the sky is filled with spinning sounds and a floating drummer on a mission. Bubbling, deep, powerful hard hitting trance with its own edge. I found I could follow the shapes that are formed and then transform. A complete mind bender. Wizzy Noise just know how to hit you where it hurts and they do it here with a fantastic dark melody. An electrifying progressive and also spiritual journey through so many different shades of light.Track5 is 'Mental Discipline' with wizzy sounds (and noises), a bass line that weighs a ton and grins. It opens up its huge arms and grabs you inside its industrial tunnel. Percussive with shortish stints of psy waves it chugs away powerfully on acidic fuel. Some of the lines are menacing that appear to curl themselves around the havinit huge sound. The sickly evil talking which is all distorted just gets my energy levels up to go completely mad. Aggressive mosching got me through it. The last few acid runs make it such a chunky mother. This is so beautifully put together. Track6 is called 'Demented Drum p.1' which should get your gullies tingling. Plenty of banging and tribal vibe, groovy bass and some disturbing faint screams. Little twinkling sounds above are really lush. Its another one with a huge sound and it delivers one message: Forget about your neighbouirs and turn it right up! Man there are so many feelings going on and they are all jammed inside this psychedelic meat sandwich. After the spacey breakdown prepare to blow the top of your head away with some seering trance. You may find it hard to move on after hearing this. I think this is my favorite but its very difficult to pick a complete winner. Track7 'Timeline' has a back alley intro and pumping bass line. Oooh it is a funky monkey with gorgeous beat patting. A rolling tune which pushes higher and higher each time getting further with every second. Different levels to this track which includes an emotional one. It also has an aggressive stance. I found it floaty and I was craving for more and more but they bring that melody in and things couldn't get any better. Scrummy scrumptious and scrummy. Track8 is 'Demented Drum P.2.' consisting of a powerful beginning and steady flowing bubbly trance that gradually boils to the brim. It does spit out some scolding sounds whilst the percussion whispers its own noises. I was captivated by the chant like sample as it seemed to be able to penentrate right through me. I felt that this one is a little infected and its also very big and pretty hard. I'd love to hear it a party. Track 9 is 'Dreamwave'. Spooky grinding made with snappy percussive teeth. Again its an amazing bass line. Sponge like repetative synth stab swill wobble your cheeks. Its totally up for it and the highlight for me was these phenomenal emotional tingly light drops of melody. They come down like rain and are as equally refreshing especially over this bouncing bomb. Time to scream and cream again... Wizzy Noise bring us to a close with 'Outmosphere' which is a great title for the last tune. I found myself getting down to some dirty trancing. Its hugely trippy with lots of differemt dimensions. Pumping psychedelic power and somewhere in there is a familiar whistling sound. Its driving me scatty as to where I've heard that from before, or is my mind playing tricks again? Like the whole album it has so much sound, so much control and so much bass. I really couldn't end the album after hearing this the first time so I hit the rewind and played it again straight after. This is a groundbreaking product.

Wizzy Noise are no strangers to the scene. The years have seen them grow and develop with the scene, absorbing the dominant elements around at the time and developing them into their own unique and haunting style. Thus what you get with Elektro Theater is an album that sits on the sharp end of the psychedelic cutting edge giving us a glimpse of things to come that many will, in their time, copy.

As expected the latest album by Wizzy Noise comes with massive drive and full-on but in a very particular style. As the name says you'll find lots of elements from the electro sector, embedded in full song structures which create a very special atmosphere; like a crossover of techno, electro, trance and goa music. But typical sounds of psytrance can be found always in the foreground.. rattling basslines in combination with swirling percussion and melodic parts. "Elecktro Theater" still contains high quality music and is recommendable.

Wizzy Noise return with their second album (third in total) on Candyflip Records "Elecktro Theater", more full on than ever with ten dancefloor friendly tracks that promise to rock the floors world wide. Sadly despite the name there is no "Elecktro" on the album but surely many tracks are so highly charged that someone could call them "elecktrified". I would like to comment a bit on the artwork before I will head on with the review. I believe you know what the scientists say about the women response to bass and where it hits them. Well, Micky sure hit the right spot by placing those headphones there ;)
In a more serious mood opener "Radical Payne" kicks off like a drunken bull. Heavy phat production and full on character plus some melodic touches to keep the balance right. A very explosive way to start an album and a very nice track too. Follower "Screwheads" comes in a remix form and it gets a bit darker and gloomier than "Radical Payne". Many things happen across the journey but I am slightly getting bored after a while with this one.
Named after the album or vice versa, "Elektro Theater" has a reputation to stand up to and it manages well despite the high expectations. A bit brighter than the previous ones and a lot bouncier this track would be mostly remembered for its tick-tack breakdown. Nice tune. "Paradise Lost" is the finest example of what "in your face" really is all about. Straight to the juices this one has distinctive metallic stabs and offbeat techno overtones to keep the floor rolling and what a great impact that has. Probably my favor out of this album.
Next is "Mental Discipline" which calms thing down a bit before getting stronger and angrier at the end. Despite the esoteric peak I still can not get into this track… "Demented Drum Part One" is a fast paced track. A dancefloor pleaser with strong echoes of The Delta sound so expect some clever use of percussion sounds and marching rhythmic elements. Very nice track indeed.
"Timeline" follows next which eases the pace again. Usually I hate the "classic" 3/4 motor like bassline but in here the manipulated percussion loops and arrangement are so nice that after a while the bass becomes transparent. A groovier little journey that is. Follower "Demented Drum Part Two" shares the same path with part one. Fast and furious trance for those late hours. The thing is though that it doesn't add much to the album since almost every aspect is covered and explored by the first part.
"Dreamwave" which is next, in a really weird way sounds like "Mental Discipline" (at least on the main driving rhythm) with its flanger driven beats and cowbell drops. Much more quirkier though with a stronger and smoother esoteric peak, I believe it is a much better track. More mind boggling too!! Finisher "Outmosphere" despite being a really nice word play seems like a try from behalf of the Wizzy duo to depart from their typical rhythmic structure into something more upfront and therefore funkier. As a try I must give them credit for trying out although the result is not a top track but not a bad one either. Sounds like a teaser from the next generation of perhaps funkier sonic experiments by Wizzy Noise. But that is only a guess though!

Wizzy Noise know their thing well. There are things I "see" in their mixing techniques and arrangements that "shout out" about their ability to make nice music -maybe not groundbreaking but still nice- in their genre of interest.
Especially the fact that they mix layers of sounds in there with some being just audible to keep the rhythmic structure alive and dynamic is a sample of their progression as producers and musicians. Detailed programming and tight mixing is something I like and Wizzy Noise know how to do this right. Judging by this, I would say that full on fans would love this album and just to cut the long story short if I was about to buy just one full on album this year that would definitely rock the floors you know which one I would choose. Another strong and solid release by the Candyflip posse.

The best artist album of the year in my opinion, powerfull, deep and fresh.
Old style feeling, perfect production and very new ideas.

Wizzy Noise is the one most respected Greek acts in general and at the same time the biggest Greek project in the psy trance scene. They are a part of the Candyflip family, which released their new album with a very nice packaging featuring a quite commercially-orientated cover. In terms of the music, it is going to create panic to the listeners not only for its very good production but also for the tight compositional construction of the tracks. This is a dancefloor killer album…Psy crystal modern tech music

Haris P. – FREEZE Magazine (GR)

Wizzy Noise, long time purveyors of psychedelic trance, scuttle along the celluloid raceways strung between planet-sized, slowly rotating projector reels, directing delightful quicksilver noir. While the plots in their vignettes may subtly change from track to track, and from listener to listener, the overriding sense of urgency carries the theme. It’s a race against time human, and you, my friend, may be running behind.
With the opening “Radical Payne”, the eerie glitz of neon signs over tightly wound passages on the circuit board symmetry of the city box you in. “Officer in danger!” voices shout over static filled radio waves, and as sirens sound, the hunt is on. Sensations of hunter and hunted are viscerally created with a disconcerting lack of prospective for the audience. “I know I am running. What for? And who is chasing whom?”
This sense of the dramatic sets the release apart from dryer, more chaste genre endeavors, making for music ideal for the mix or the home theater. From a production standpoint, the tracks meticulously meander, moving from scene to scene with the sure handed touch of master craftsmen, and the depth and range of variations is sublime. To single out tracks is impossible, they are all perfect constructions given birth from the digital DNA of the Wizzy Noise studio…
This is the soundtrack to a sci-fi remake of “Touch of Evil” blending shadow and light. This is “Blade Runner” on a sub-atomic level, careening through fibrous matrices of molecules. This is “Elecktro Theater” an expedition through sonic landscapes so rarely envisioned in psychedelic trance.
