First review (by Mushroom On-line order-translated from German) :
Following the first release, the Cyclotron cd by Wizzy Noise, here comes the first compilation from Candyflip Records from Greece which is called ETSI (whatever this means...actually it means "This Way" or "Like this" in Greek)...and it is full of pumping techno-trance..it is hard and fast and easily perceived.Overall the cd has 8 previously unreleased tracks from artists such as Igneous Sauria, EarGear, Bent Sentient vs Pied Piper Paul that know exactly how to use their drumcomputers and samplers to the best out of them. In general the cd expresses a rather dark and very well thought out sentimentalism but nevertheless very danceable music
(Rakete)

First track by dj Aze from charasmatix. A really clever atmospheric groove. Best way to start a compilation.
Second is a track from a new project from Greece, Drone, offer really "Contagious" rythmes combined with psychedelic sounds.
From South Africa, Bent Sentient with Pied Piper Paul are serious with their title. This track is twisted.
Chris Igneous Sauria playing in his unique techno style made me jumping around with his track.
Another artist from Greece, Unearthed, give a good compination of crazy rythmes and atmospheric sounds.
Wizzy Noise with an unreleased track in the sound they had in their album will keep everybody dancing.
Eargear set a hypnotic techno oriented track for the "minders".
Finally the last track from Kostas Alekoglou (ex-Magus) is in a more slow funky beat. We know Magus' style and i personally really like it.

Well known artists and very good newcomers gave a very powerfull and well-flowed line of tracks for this compilation. Everything for the dancefloor! Good for us! Very nice indeed. I hope they'll continue in this way in their later releases.

Prestem aten??o na faixa "Voices of Electra" do estreante Unearthed: Quebra tudo! Muito samples de risadas, gritos... (Com certeza os caras ouviram a spera ELEKTRA do Strauss!). Essa faixa numa pista vai levar muitos freaks ? loucura, com certeza!

"Second great release from greek label (first one was Cyclotron from Wizzy Noise), which will serve to make the first appereance of some fresh-newcoming greek projects and some tracks of oldskool bands. If those guys are already starting kicking some asses, imagine within 2 year ahead (as we discussed recently here in the mainlinglist). Tracks go through dark and heavy climates of fullon, progressive and psytechno - really greek-taste, that like to bang it hard! I am not going over track by track but the record is highly recommended. Pay attention in the track "Voices of Electra" of newcomer Unearthed: kicks ass! Lots of laughing samples, screams..(no doubt the heard the opera ELEKTRA from Strauss!). This track in a dance floor will make many freaks wild for sure!
Cheers Darly"

Das Medikament's Kikma sets things off with heavy-percussion and glitch-like computer stabs over an almost wild west feel, and Drone's Contagious which is a heavy, deep, growly bit of bad mood trance that's scary and kicking in equal measures. Malice in Blunderland from Bent Sentient vs. Pied Piper Paul is, along with contender for wonderfully daft track name of the year, starts sparse and desolate but gets incredibly twisted with abstract sounds and fairytale samples making for a real acid nightmare vibe. Voices of Electra by Unearthed is wicked, it's effortlessly intricate and brings in slices of jazz, techno, house and trance, as well as an orgasm and a couple of old S-Express samples. It escalates into a starwars battletastic noisefest, without losing its cute prog-tech backbone. Wizzy Noise can do no wrong, and they do no wrong here either with Process. Beats fall into place like metallic snowflakes, the music changes almost of its own accord, and the varied and original sounds are a delight. Eargear's Dependence is what dance music will sound like in a hundred years, it's bizarro-fetish-disco with a really odd couple of sounds running through and brilliantly opposed melodies to make you wonder what the hell's going on. Some very clever and intricate stuff here, and that sparse and desolate vibe will have you coming back for more every time.

With a tracklist that boasts the likes of Wizzy Noise and Bent Sentient amongst others you have a gut feeling that this album is going to be good before it has even got as far as the play button on the CD player. But, as always, the proof of the pudding is very much in the eating and if this CD was a meal then you would be treated to a la carte gourmet food at its best. From the first track right until the end my attention was irresolutely grabbed.

This is a tech-trance compilation with an “hard to accept” material, but a very articulate and unique material after all. I believe that the hardcore lovers of the tech-trance genre will enjoy this album very much and even consider this one an award winning CD, on the other hand the melody lovers wouldn't find it so enjoyable. This is a dancefloor CD, if you like your stuff dark and strong this is your treat.

This is a Greek label which has added to my excitement before listening as I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I know Candyflip's first release was the Wizzy Noise album but what will this, the second release, be like? Well it all kicks off with Das Medikament's 'Kikma'. From the word go it starts to throb, banging, creaking and screeching all the way. I thought there was a bit of a moody feel to it but the drums come to the rescue and I suppose reveal another layer of depth to the track. Progressive but powerful. Track2 is by Drone and is called 'Contagious'. I loved the intro being both dark and alien... It carries a strong bass-line and starts quite simple but the whole structure seems to evolve and change. There is a cracking sample as it builds to a break after which it takes off even harder. Although not fullon it still gets you clamping your teeth together. The beauty of this tune is the journey that it provides. I look forward to hearing more from Drone. Track3 is by Bent Sentient Vs Pied Piper Paul with a track called 'Malice In Blunderland'. Great name! More of a pulsating feel to this one in a kind of Skazi style I suppose...The scratching sounds work really well and I love those laser bits. Quite a spacey number to start but we are lead to some experimental and harder edged layers. Great variety and very trippy. Track4 is by 'Igneous Sauria' and is called 'Cookies For Rookies'. Certainly not shy in coming forward this one certainly gets the heart pumping. This is a really groovy one, simple but effective. Very catchy sounds seem to bring a happy vibe as it continues both hard and rolling. An infectious progressive champion. My favorite on the compilation. Track5 is by Unearthed and is called 'Voices of Electra'. She certainly seems to enjoy it. Quite a crazy track with some superb sounds and tribal beats. Another new artist on me and I'm impressed. Lots of originality and a good rhythm that is groovy and sometimes funky. Lots of changes along the way and some nice if not funny samples. Wizzy Noise have got track6 with 'Process'. If you like the Wizzy stuff you'll love it. They do the usual with some great tough sounds and provide a dark atmosphere that in parts is pretty intense. They certainly know how to put a scary track together and although not always my cup of tea this one simply blew me away. Eargear with 'Dependence' give us track7. This catchy number is something a little different and special to. More up-beat in a way and a bit clubby. You will certainly be shaking your stuff. Nice waves of psy and some good knob abuse give us something to smile at. A tough progressive track that should be played very loud. The last track is by Skizoprenic and is called 'Obsession'. This finishes us off a bit slower and quite spacey. Enjoyable and funky its a great choice to close the album door with. An overall good positive album with plenty of variety and quality to cater for different tastes.
