Sticking with a futuristic vibe with Wizzy Noise, but this is firmly of the Bladerunner school of sci-fi visionary-isms. And apologies for this review coming out late - we missed this by a few weeks, and as it came out at the same time as and was eclipsed by X Dream's Irritant, you may well have missed it as well. Wizzy Noise's take on the techno-trance fusion is miles apart from the competition, with a rhythm section that's more Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills than anything else. The album has a paranoid, close and cinematic feel to it, and all the way there's an evident love for what they are doing and a distinct vibrancy of trying something new. Painful Memory is the clear standout, a dynamic and wide-scoped techno trance hybrid with all the right elements, taking you off into a distant and wonderful techno-utopia. It's high-impact stuff, and a little intense and too-epic all in one go, but damn good music and very different to anything else you'll hear.

I think it is an excellently produced album, with a huge sound throughout. Although I do not often play much of the fast and darker tracks these days, I am still very impressed by their use of warm sub-bass and percussion. Tracks 1, 5 and 7 particularly grabbed me.

What I liked a lot about this album is that first as a concept it feels original. That clinic futuristic feel is a something that nobody has done before in the trance scene.
Secondly it is an album that takes the listener into a journey from dark to light. The progressive passage from one mind state to another has been properly adjusted too so the trip feels and actually is psychedelic. Without dead moments or out of concept tracks. Even the monkey track fits well the concept. My overall estimation is that this is the best psychedelic album ever emerged from planet Greece. Nicely produced with some interested ideas explored. Balancing with great style between commercial and forward thinking music it certainly doesn't feel like a rip-off. We should be proud for these guys.

Always innovative and on the cutting edge of music, sit back with “Cyclotron” and let the Wizzys’ take you on their most phenomenal voyage yet. The title track is first up and no time is wasted as the panic-stricken vocal sample is crushed by the pounding combined forces of thunderous bass line and busy percussion, those of a faint heart better step aside because this rolling soundscape takes no prisoners- killer! Don’t even think about trying to claw back your sanity as we’re treated to more of the same in the shape of “Radius” “Oxidizer” and the deep almost industrial “Velocity Engine”. By track 5 “Tau Ceti” you’re well and truly lost in the darkest corner of your mind, and we’re only half way through the album.! But the best is yet to come as “Technophobia” lines up nicely for the cream of this masterpiece, “Painful Memory” which gets us rolling down an avenue of breath taking proportions. The deep, driving “Tribal Dawn”, with its smart percussion and pulsating bass, satisfyingly sets you up for all-out free party euphoria in the form of “Unfulfilled Desires”, my words are failing me now as this is rocking my world- unparalleled brilliance and tune of the album- imense! “Exodus” finishes off this absolute triumph for Wizzys’- buy it now !
