Candyflip Records proudly presents its new chill-out
compilation, the long-awaited sequel to its first
Mountain High compilation. Alex Candy once more
compiled this chill-out/downbeat compilation,
carefully “handpicking” the tracks over the 1,5 year
period since the release of the first successful
compilation. It is a colorful collection of tracks from
artists from all over the world : France, Spain, Brazil,
New Zealand, Greece, Sweden

Mountain High II features once more established
artist names such as Aes Dana, Cell, Max Maxwell,
Solar Fields, Kick Bong and new talented artists such
as I.X.Ω.P. and Lideres Band ensuring a magical
and ethereal musical journey up the mountain! ;)

Short artist information  :

Solar Fields, aka Magnus Birgersson, is a unique artist
from Göteborg, Sweden. With a past experience enriched
by electronic collaborations, Magnus has built a vivid
sound universe, melting diverse ambient styles into
psytrance or industrial drones. After two sonic gems
albums signed on Ultimae Records and some famous
tracks on AP records, Spiral Trax, 3D Vision, Candyflip...
Solar fields confirms his global vision of ambient, at times
atmospheric and ecstatic, at others rythmic and groovy.
Through his music Solar Fields cultivates his unique
mastery of sound climates, unity stands. He is now
preparing a double album release on Ultimae records.

The project "Lideres band" was formed in 2004 in
Barcelona by Rafael Mello (aka DJ Basbu) from Brazil
along with percussionist and producer Jose España (ES)
and bass player Juan Carlos (ES). The musical style of
project was initially towards chill-out and lounge music
and was later was fused with jazz, funk, broken beats
and house music and also bossa. Lideres band is
accompanied by the beautiful voice of Jessica Custer (ITA). 

Kick Bong is the project of Franck Jousellin, who is comes
from France. His involvement with music started at the early
age of 12 when he started playing drums and in the process
he played drums and percussions with several bands and
dj’s on the Parisian scène and studio. His main musical
influences are : pop, funk, new wave, punk rock, acid jazz
and trip hop. He has released 4 Kick Bong tracks with
Spirit Zone Records on the global psychedelic trance and
chill out compilations as well as in compilations by
Candyflip Records and Clima Records, a division
of Sub machine Records. Earlier this year he released
his debut album “A Cup of Tea?” on Ultra Vista records.

Cell (FR) is the one of the musical facets of composer
sound-engineer Alex Scheffer, Following studies at the
Conservatory, Cell worked at many sonorous design works
for short films and advertisings. He specialised in wave
sequencing using the Korg technologies. Editor at Clavier
magazine, house and contemporary music composer, Cell
creates, in his spare time, small atmospheric ambient-jungle
universes. He released tracks also on well-known labels such
as Ultimae, Candyflip, Iboga and recently his debut album
“Phonic Peace” on Indica music.

Ι.Χ.Ω.P. is the project of Themis Xafis from Thessaloniki, Greece.
Themis is 30 years old, he is a percussionist and has been involved
in making electronic music for approximately 10 years. His first track
release was on the Floating Point compilation by Iboga records.
He has been signed exclusively to Candyflip Records and he is
now working on his debut album.

Max Maxwell  was originally one third of Matipo Pyramid (a NZ trance group), Max has been making tunes on his own now for 5 years. Max has been trying to add an element of soul to his electronica style, through playing guitar and incorporating other local musicians into his music. His debut album "Continuous Play" was released in January 2001 by Golden Bay records. In one of the tracks featured on Mountain High II, he collaborates with TKY, the project of Yaniv Zaidman from Israel, also known from his track releases on various Chillum compilations by Agitato records.

Vincent Villuis is the former member of goa chill band Asura. In his current project – Aes Dana (FR) - his music stands as a coherent fusion of deep sounds rooted in the psychedelic tradition, in a fluid down tempo morning trance. Evocative sound textures, opening as a travelling over his analogical dreams. Short tales made of samples and waves, energised by tribal beats. Aes Dana has released 3 albums by Ultimae records and a number of tracks on compilations by Ultimae, Candyflip, 3-division and other labels.
